I've been having the worst problem this winter with the migraine blues and my perimenopausal symptoms flaring up. I've been having killer hot flashes on top of unmanageable migraine pain. Also, my hands keep swelling up and down, preventing me from wearing my favorite ring. Someday it fits and other days it doesn't. It has really been bothering me not being able to wear it all the time.
I decided to get an alternate ring in a different size so I can keep wearing a ring every day, and I decided to go for the bling route with a Princess Cut CZ. It's a gorgeous ring, very girly, very sparkly and eye catching, and it has cheered me up immensely. I'm thinking about getting some earrings from the same place. I think migraine chicks need to have some sparkle in their lives.

Migraine Monsters

One of my art projects that I really enjoy is drawing in my Moleskine journal. I devoted one of them to just drawing cupcakes as a migraine distraction. Recently, I bought one of the newer Moleskines called Passions which is a bigger journal, and I decided to devote it to drawing migraine monsters.
For me, my migraines are frequently not the same. There is always some variation, so that's why I think there is a variety of migraine monsters.

Migraine Haiku
These are some of my favorite Migraine Haikus that I've written.
A crane soars above
Hope floats, a pain free day
It plucks out my eye
Chocolate Bunny
Icon or migraine trigger
I’ll stick to the Peeps
Gentle stream gurgles
A fall leaf floats on the wind
It’s still far too loud
Every day head pain
Not a teddy bear picnic
Nor a nursery rhyme.
Snowflakes melt too fast
Stick my head in the freezer
For blissful relief
Robin eats a worm
Morning dewdrops feed the grass
I swallow a pill
A crane soars above
Hope floats, a pain free day
It plucks out my eye
Chocolate Bunny
Icon or migraine trigger
I’ll stick to the Peeps
Gentle stream gurgles
A fall leaf floats on the wind
It’s still far too loud
Every day head pain
Not a teddy bear picnic
Nor a nursery rhyme.

Violet Ray for Migraines??

A friend of mine loves to collect vintage medical things, and he recently bought this violet ray machine.
"The device we are most often asked about is the Violet Ray Generator, sometimes called an "ultra violet device." Tens of thousands of these devices were sold for home use between about 1915 and 1950 under brand names such as Masters, Elco and Renulife. Literature accompanying the devices claimed to cure just about everything including heart disease, paralysis, wry neck and writers cramp!"
I thought it was interesting that headaches were listed in the manual, but not migraines.
