Migraines and Nightmares!

I know most of the content of the following nightmare was mostly my fault, because I had posted cute zombie pictures in my last post and I just watched Dawn of The Dead (the remake)on TV again. Part of the nightmare does make me wonder though how much migraine pain plays a part in your dreams.

I dreamt that I was in a deserted warehouse with horrible migraine pain and four zombies were chasing me. They were the guys from the 1980’s British sitcom The Young Ones.

Every time they caught me, they tried to bite my fingers off. I kept saying to them “No, dumb asses. You’re supposed to be trying to eat my brain. What good are you as zombies if you don’t eat my brain?”

I managed to get away and I found a gun, which turned out to be a paint ball gun. I tried to use it against them anyway. The Young One Zombies just ended up being splattered with brightly colored paint.

Great. My head was still hurt like crazy and the stupid painted zombies were still chasing me. I was feeling so fed up at the whole situation that I cried out “I’m so freaking irritated!”

It was then I woke up and my head was banging like crazy. So what came first? The bad migraine pain and then the nightmare, or did the nightmare make my head hurt worse. Does anyone else have bad dreams created by bad pain?

i do! i have vivid dreams in general, and that includes bad dreams as well as good. the worse the pain is, it seems the worse the dreams are. :(

I have bad dreams, sometimes when my husband forgets and leaves the t.v. on at night, tuned into Forensic Files....not good to wake up to that! Very scary!

And other times when I am in pain. I used to get them a lot more frequently with pain, before I was on a preventive...not sure if it's linked or not. I also have more vivid dreams when I am stressed or something like that, which may also cause me to clench my jaw....which can also cause me to, yep you guessed it, get a migraine.

Yes, absolutely. I actually have had bad nightmares about cannibalism, resulting in my becoming a vegetarian, too. Usually, though, I am shot looking down the barrel of a gun. I might get shot in the hip or leg in my dream, then wake up to the actual pain.

I love zombies, though. Having fibro/CFS, I can sometimes relate to them LOL!

Geez Chickie, I never really noticed until I started hanging out in the on-line migraine world, and now it's happened several times. Just last night! I dreamed a jumbo jet fell out of the sky onto me and my family - I saw it coming and tried to get everyone to run out of the house but no-one would listen to me - and the scream of the jet was hurting my head bad!

I've had both - pain then terrible dreams and terrible dreams then pain. When I'm in horrible pain the dreams I have are so real that it freaks me out. Another WBS - Weird Body Symptom for me, par for the course.

I tend to have really vivid, scary dreams a lot of the time, but they are definitely worse when the pain is severe. Odd...

I think you need more time to add even more information about this issue. I hate the migraine too, but I think this history isn't good enough, specially with this part "What good are you as zombies if you don’t eat my brain?" I don't liked enough.

migraines and nightmares that is a really bad combination and I remember when I suffered from terrible migraines and nightmares too, all that disappeared when I got a new job
